About the position

The Senior Analyst, Ancillary Revenue Data Scientist at Frontier Airlines plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance of ancillary revenue through the application of statistical modeling, data science, and product management techniques. This position is integral to the Revenue Management team, where the analyst will be responsible for developing and coding new analytical products and models. The role involves collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external partners to create customer-centric, customized offers that drive business processes and revenue growth. In this data-led environment, the Senior Analyst will design, execute, and deliver advanced quantitative analyses and multi-feature models that inform decision-making processes. The analyst will leverage big data capabilities, cloud environments, and various data sources to identify signals that can be integrated into modeling for explication, prediction, or production. The position also requires performing Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to gain insights into customer shopping behaviors and responses to Frontier's offers, ultimately aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and meet their needs more effectively. The role demands a strong foundation in coding and applied economics, particularly in the areas of Pricing, Revenue Management, and Ancillary teams. The Senior Analyst will be expected to develop and deploy customer-centric analytics, utilizing techniques such as cluster analysis and collaborative filtering. Additionally, the analyst will create and maintain code standards and workflows, participate in peer reviews, and mentor junior team members, contributing to the overall advancement of revenue optimization within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and deliver advanced quantitative analyses and multi-feature models to drive decision-making and actions.
  • Leverage big data and cloud environments to identify signals and integrate them into modeling for explication, prediction, or production.
  • Lead in fulfilling general analytics requirements and perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to gain insights into customer behaviors.
  • Generate modeling hypotheses using multivariate statistical approaches and modern Machine Learning techniques.
  • Lead the implementation and industrialization of developed models in the production system, including all phases of the code lifecycle.
  • Explicate results of quantitative analysis and communicate findings to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Work primarily in Python, MS SQL, and other big data environments.
  • Provide expertise in coding and applied economics across Pricing, Revenue Management, and Ancillary teams.
  • Develop and deploy customer-centric analytics, utilizing cluster analysis and randomized elasticity testing.
  • Create and maintain code standards, code library, and workflows for industrialized processes.
  • Participate in peer reviews of analytical designs and code to advance revenue optimization.
  • Assist, mentor, and guide junior team members.
  • Assist in the transition to streaming data for several sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field required.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or other analytically focused programs preferred.
  • At least 4 years of professional data analysis experience required.
  • Experience in airline pricing, yield- or revenue management, revenue analytics, or similar role required.
  • Previous use of MS SQL, Python, and other big data technologies required.
  • Previous professional use of statistical analysis software preferred.
  • Proven ability to independently perform quantitative analysis and model development.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail for reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments, partners, and staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with statistical analysis software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of modern Machine Learning techniques is a plus.
