About the position

The Senior Analyst/Budget & Analytics position at The Valley Hospital is a critical role that involves assisting in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets. This position requires the analyst to generate detailed monthly reports and analyses that are essential for management to monitor system operations effectively. The role is designed for individuals who possess a strong financial background, preferably with experience in the healthcare industry, such as in a hospital or medical group setting, or in consulting. The analyst will work closely with department leadership and the accounting team, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and confidential. In this role, the analyst will be expected to navigate various finance applications and operational reporting systems, including MediTech, Athena, Anodyne, AXIOM, and QLIK. Strong analytical skills are essential, as the analyst will need to analyze complex problems, link operational KPIs with financial results, and interpret operational needs to develop integrated and creative solutions. The position demands excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, along with advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products. The Senior Analyst will work full-time during the day shift, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and will be part of the VH COST & BUDGET department. This role is vital for ensuring that the financial operations of the hospital are aligned with its strategic goals, and it offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree preferred with some accounting credits or other business-related field.
  • Equivalent combination of an Associate's degree and 3-5 years' experience can be considered.
  • Financial background preferably with previous healthcare industry or consulting experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills required.
  • Personal computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.
