About the position

The Business Analyst, Business Effectiveness at CIBC plays a crucial role in enhancing business processes through in-depth research, analysis, and documentation. This position involves consulting with various business units to identify process improvements, ensuring compliance with standards, and participating in risk management and cost optimization projects. The analyst will develop response playbooks for operational disruptions, conduct thorough research to identify risks, and collaborate with teams to align strategies with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects impacting the business through research analysis and documentation.
• Consult with the business on process improvements and lead technical development.
• Develop comprehensive response playbooks for various scenarios including incidents and operational disruptions.
• Conduct thorough research to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with LOBs and communications teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on implementation of playbooks.
• Gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions.
• Build client-focused solutions and prepare solution design documents.
• Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert.
• Oversee requests from stakeholders and create communication materials.
• Conduct investigations and provide resolutions for business issues.

Requirements

• Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Business Analyst role leading projects and designing solutions.
• Experience with SQL, Azure Dev Ops, Quality Assurance, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of financial markets including Stock, Option, Fixed Income, and Mutual Funds.
• Understanding of financial product concepts and calculations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Agile methodologies.
