About the position

The Senior Analyst in Compensation is responsible for a variety of complex compensation activities, including job evaluation, market pricing, salary surveys, and compensation database maintenance. This role supports the Compensation department's service delivery model and involves conducting compensation activities on a departmental, divisional, or company-wide basis. The analyst will also provide analytical support, manage compensation projects, and counsel management on pay changes, ensuring competitive compensation programs that align with the company's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information during business operations.
  • Participate in salary surveys by collecting and reporting data to third-party providers.
  • Review salary survey results and recommend benchmark job adjustments.
  • Provide analytical support for merit budgets, salary structure modifications, and incentive plan data.
  • Access, change, and maintain compensation and HR databases for quality assurance.
  • Prepare economic and cost impact models for compensation initiatives.
  • Counsel management on complex pay changes and merit review cycles.
  • Stay current on compensation trends through training and professional organizations.
  • Coach and mentor less senior Compensation Analysts.
  • Manage complex ad-hoc compensation projects and analyses.
  • Develop incentive compensation plan designs and validate models against goals.
  • Counsel HRBPs and TA team members on compensation philosophy and practices.
  • Analyze and recommend compensation programs for business units to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Enhance compensation aspects in HR information systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of compensation experience, or high school/GED with at least 4 years of compensation experience.
  • Experience with confidentiality requirements in HR, Compensation, or Finance.
  • Experience with compensation techniques, job evaluation, salary survey practices, and total rewards concepts.
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word.
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration and at least 2 years of compensation experience.
  • Experience in other HR functions such as generalist, business partner, or benefits.
  • Experience with incentive compensation plan design and measurement.
  • Knowledge of HRIS analytics related to compensation functions.
  • Basic accounting knowledge and collaboration with Finance on compensation activities.
  • Experience with EEOC, OFCCP compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act and its application to job evaluation.
