About the position

The Senior Compensation Analyst at the College of Southern Nevada plays a crucial role in conducting compensation analysis, researching job requirements, and evaluating job positions to ensure competitive salaries and employee benefits. Reporting directly to the CHRO, this position is responsible for operational excellence in compensation practices and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Human Resources by generating reports and conducting job description reviews and analysis.
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Assess jobs to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and establish appropriate salary ranges.
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data and market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges.
  • Prepare and present summary reports of job and compensation analysis information.
  • Research employee benefits in similar industries and recommend changes to existing benefits or policies.
  • Plan and communicate best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
  • Advise management on state and federal employment regulations, benefits, and compensation policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of compensation analyst experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in human resources, business, or related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Certification in compensation.
  • 4 years of related professional experience.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS system.
