About the position

The Senior Analyst, Compensation at the College of Southern Nevada plays a crucial role in conducting compensation analysis and ensuring the college remains competitive in salaries and employee benefits. Reporting directly to the CHRO, this position is responsible for operational excellence in compensation practices, data analysis, and advising management on compliance with employment regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compensation analysis and research requirements to evaluate positions.
  • Generate reports and conduct description review and analysis for Human Resources.
  • Assess positions to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Benchmark positions against survey data and market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges.
  • Prepare and present summary reports of analysis and compensation information.
  • Research employee benefits in similar industries and recommend changes to existing benefits or policies.
  • Plan and communicate best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
  • Advise management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits, and compensation policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of compensation analyst experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in human resources, business, or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Certification in compensation.
  • 4 years related professional experience.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS system.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and process data.
