About the position

The Senior Analyst - Data Management position at Ally Financial is focused on driving data transformation across various business disciplines, particularly in employee scorecarding and incentive compensation. This role requires a proactive approach to managing data organization, change management, and governance while ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The successful candidate will contribute to Ally's reputation as a leading employer and auto-lender by implementing and supporting incentive compensation plans and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to design, develop, implement, and support various incentive compensation plans and processes that meet business objectives.
  • Perform end-to-end plan administration/execution of incentive compensation plans including target setting, payment calculation, pay statement creation/distribution, plan analysis, and reporting.
  • Design and implement data transformation models/engines using SQL, SAS, DBT, Snowflake.
  • Leverage data between various interfaces, warehouses, and reporting systems to develop KPI dashboards, incentive payment calculations, reports, and presentations.
  • Develop, update, and maintain procedural documentation and controls to ensure policy compliance and payment accuracy.
  • Support leadership and stakeholder partners in providing ongoing evaluation and ad hoc analytics related to incentive compensation plans; drive recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or other highly quantitative field of study.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of query languages: SQL, DBT, SAS, Snow SQL, Python.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Snowflake.
  • Experience in data transformation and daily table builds/sequencing.
  • Familiarity with Power BI models and report building is a plus.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis and research methods.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workflow.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Auto finance knowledge or experience is a plus.
