In terms of policy and compliance, the Executive Compensation Specialist assists in ensuring that executive compensation programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including SEC regulations and IRS rules. This includes maintaining compensation policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness, as well as preparing and reviewing compensation disclosures for proxy statements and other regulatory filings. Data analysis and reporting are key components of this role. The specialist conducts market research and benchmarking to analyze trends, ensuring that executive compensation practices remain competitive and compliant with industry standards. This involves analyzing compensation data, preparing reports on compensation trends, and conducting cost analyses to support decision-making. The specialist also monitors and assesses the effectiveness of compensation programs, recommending adjustments as necessary. Communication and collaboration are essential aspects of the position. The Executive Compensation Specialist works closely with various departments, including HR, Finance, and Legal, as well as external consultants, to implement and administer compensation plans. They oversee the communication of incentive programs to key stakeholders and educate executives and HR teams about the impact of compensation programs on performance and business outcomes. Additionally, the specialist contributes to special projects and initiatives related to executive compensation and broader HR objectives. Plan administration is another critical responsibility. The specialist oversees the administration of executive compensation plans, tracking performance metrics and ensuring timely payments. They manage relationships with compensation consultants and brokers, and administer the long-term incentive plan, which includes updating the system to reflect new awards, vesting existing awards, and modeling different scenarios within the system.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring that executive compensation programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including SEC regulations and IRS rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP) preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in compensation management, with a focus on executive compensation.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation practices, compensation design, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and compensation software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
