About the position

The Finance Data Governance function at NIKE, Inc. is dedicated to providing accurate, trusted, and consistent data and reporting that aligns with strategic goals to enhance financial decision-making. The Senior Analyst in Finance Data Governance will play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing governance processes related to finance data, driving core initiatives to shape the Finance Data Governance program at Nike. This position requires a candidate with a strong background in data management and an understanding of leading standards concerning quality, compliance, and controls. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to develop and maintain effective finance data governance processes across Nike's entire finance data and reporting landscape, collaborating with various teams throughout the organization. In this role, the Senior Analyst will be expected to demonstrate a foundational level of data literacy, which includes the ability to read, write, and communicate data in context. This encompasses an understanding of data sources, analytical methods, and the ability to articulate the use case and resulting value of data initiatives. Additionally, the role requires a solid grasp of financial management fundamentals, including financial statements, planning, and performance management processes. A key aspect of this position is the ability to work cross-functionally, engage stakeholders, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including leadership. The Senior Analyst will support the development of data governance strategies and processes related to finance data and reporting. They will facilitate adherence to Nike's broader Enterprise Data Governance principles and ensure successful implementation within the Finance function. This role will also involve the development and maintenance of policy documentation that aligns with the finance data governance framework, providing clear standards for the Finance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of data governance strategies and processes associated with finance data and reporting.
  • Facilitate adherence to Nike's Enterprise Data Governance principles and protocols within the Finance function.
  • Develop and maintain policy documentation that aligns with the finance data governance framework.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Planning & Analysis teams and Nike Technology partners to implement key finance data governance initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including leadership, to ensure alignment and understanding of governance processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Strategy / Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of work experience in Data Governance, Analytics, Finance, IS Management, or a related function.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and/or supporting data governance initiatives and standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to leadership.
  • Experience with transformational projects and delivering results (e.g., quality, time, change adoption).
  • Partner management and cross-functional interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage various priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong desire to learn and continuously improve.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in SAP, Cognos and/or other business intelligence tool(s).
  • Data governance certification (e.g., CDMP, DGCP, etc.).
