About the position

The position involves assisting the department in the development and implementation of governance, tools, timelines, and key processes for the five-year forecast and annual budget process for both Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) and Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (AECI). The role requires tracking company-wide and departmental success metrics, completing monthly reporting, and conducting variance analysis for AECC and AECI. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term financial planning models and conducting scenario-based analysis to support decision-making processes. The successful candidate will build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the completeness and accuracy of budget inputs and forecast assumptions. They will also assist with ad-hoc financial analysis to evaluate the pro-forma impact of various operational actions. Managing and supporting the company's forecasting and related reporting processes is a critical aspect of this role. The position also involves executing benchmarking efforts with outside parties and researching best practices in financial metrics relative to AECC and AECI's peer companies. The candidate will assist the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis with special projects as requested. The role requires the ability to exhibit poise under pressure, communicate effectively with senior leaders, and work collaboratively with others. Due to the nature of the business, maintaining regular and punctual attendance is essential, as is the ability to work outside of regular office hours when necessary. The ability to handle stress and work well with others is crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing governance, tools, timelines, and key processes for the five-year forecast and annual budget process for AECC and AECI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering or related field.
  • At least six years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Master's Degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Experience building advanced quantitative financial or economic models is preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent.
