About the position

The position involves analyzing budgets and forecasts, performing variance analysis, and supporting financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities within the company. The role focuses on evaluating the strategic position of the company through data analysis, maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving continuous improvements in financial reporting and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze budgets and forecasts and perform variance analysis to explain discrepancies.
  • Assist in the development, collection, and dissemination of premiums plans and projections to various segments, regions, and territories.
  • Create and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of strategy and execution.
  • Collect, analyze, and quantify data to evaluate the strategic position of the company at both enterprise and execution levels.
  • Utilize internal and external data sources to assess market opportunities and gaps for profitable growth.
  • Validate results against expectations to identify patterns and trends indicating potential material issues.
  • Update variance analysis for actual results compared to budget, forecast, prior year, and industry trends.
  • Run monthly reports and assist Finance and Accounting in providing insightful analysis on financial information.
  • Drive continuous process improvements in reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities through automation and system enhancements.
  • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process.
  • Build proficiencies in analyzing and investigating problems using appropriate applications and resources.
  • Identify process improvements in reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities through automation and system enhancements.
  • Assist in maintaining financial databases to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and conform with all corporate policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • 4-7 years of experience working in an insurance accounting environment or other FP&A role preferred.
