About the position

The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting is a critical role responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely filing of regulatory reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of Transportation (DOT). This position plays a vital part in generating consolidated monthly internal financial statements and handling complex accounting tasks, including investments and stock compensation. The Senior Analyst will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Investor Relations and Financial Planning & Analysis, to ensure the accuracy of external reporting deliverables. In this role, the Senior Analyst will assist in the financial reporting to the SEC on Form 10-Q and Form 10-K, as well as any other ad-hoc reporting forms that may be required. The position also involves financial reporting to the DOT on Form 41 and related schedules, as well as federal and international financial surveys and regulatory reporting. The Senior Analyst will prepare monthly cash flow statements and provide schedules and support for internal monthly financial statements and reporting packages. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for the consolidation of subsidiaries, accounting for investments, stock compensation accounting, and profit-sharing accrual. The preparation of 401K financial statements and coordination of plan audits will also fall under this role. The Senior Analyst will research technical accounting issues as needed and provide ad-hoc reporting, offering regular updates to team members and leadership. This position may also involve organizing and leading interdepartmental project teams and assisting with the implementation of Climate Disclosure rules. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the financial reporting to the SEC on Form 10-Q and Form 10-K and any other ad-hoc reporting forms that may be required
  • Collaborates with Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy of external reporting deliverables
  • Financial reporting to the DOT on Form 41 and related schedules
  • Conducts federal and international financial surveys and regulatory reporting
  • Prepares monthly cash flow statement
  • Provides schedules and support for internal monthly financial statements and reporting packages
  • Responsible for the consolidation of subsidiaries
  • Handles accounting for investments
  • Manages stock compensation accounting and profit-sharing accrual
  • Prepares 401K financial statements and coordinates plan audit
  • Researches technical accounting issues, as needed
  • Provides ad-hoc reporting as needed; offers regular updates to team members and leadership; organizes and leads interdepartmental project teams
  • Assists with implementation of Climate Disclosure rules
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate
  • Three (3) years of experience in a related field
  • Solid understanding of accounting theory and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines
  • Strong and confident communicator with strong inter-personal skills
  • High degree of accuracy through attention to detail
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
