About the position

In the role of Senior Analyst, FP&A Marketing at Confluent, you will be an integral part of the Marketing Finance team, collaborating closely with the Field Sales, Marketing, and Partner organizations. Your primary focus will be to leverage business data to provide insights into the organization's pipeline performance and optimize pipeline execution across go-to-market (GTM) strategies. This includes modeling appropriate pipeline coverage and identifying areas where pipeline generation is necessary across various functions and tactics. To succeed in this position, you will need a deep understanding of the go-to-market business functions, enabling you to effectively bridge the gap between data analysis and the business decisions that drive success. A background in a growth-oriented global SaaS business is essential, and recent experience with a consumption-based model is highly desired. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Marketing Finance, making your role pivotal in shaping the financial strategies that support the company's growth objectives. Your responsibilities will include being the primary analyst for weekly reporting and insights on pipeline generation, progression, and coverage metrics. You will utilize these insights to set global pipeline generation targets and develop an activity-based model to optimize pipeline generation across various departments, including sales, customer success, marketing, product, and partner organizations. Additionally, you will create a framework focused on enabling data-driven decisions and actionable insights, while also fostering strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across Data Science, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary analyst for weekly reporting and insights on pipeline generation, progression and coverage metrics.
  • Utilize pipeline progression and coverage insights and topline metrics to set global PG targets.
  • Develop an activity-based PG model to optimize pipeline generation across sales, CSG, marketing, product and partner organizations.
  • Develop a pipeline generation and progression framework focused on enabling data-driven decisions and actionable insights.
  • Develop outstanding key internal stakeholder relationships across Data Science, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, or Economics
  • 3+ years of hands-on analytical experience in a high-growth company, preferably a company with a consumption-driven model
  • Excellent financial modeling and analysis skills required
  • Experience with Salesforce and Tableau
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; must also be proficient using G-Suite
  • Ability to work quickly and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail
  • A high degree of self-motivation fostered in a face-paced, high growth, dynamic environment
  • Ability to influence business partners and provide recommendations in order to drive decision-making and execution
  • Strong executive presence: communication (verbal, written, presentation) and facilitation skills with experience engaging and partnering at all levels internally and with key external stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience at a company with a consumption-driven model
  • Knowledge of SQL and BigQuery
  • Working knowledge of pipeline generation and demand generation in software-based SaaS organizations
  • Working knowledge of the organizations and teams within Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Partner Ecosystem, Enablement, and Sales Operations.
