About the position

This role is a key member of the Marketing Finance team at Confluent, where you will work closely across the Field Sales, Marketing, and Partner organizations. Your primary focus will be to utilize business data to provide insights into the organization's pipeline performance and optimize pipeline execution across go-to-market (GTM) strategies. This includes modeling appropriate pipeline coverage and identifying areas where pipeline generation is needed across various functions and tactics. To succeed in this role, a deep understanding of the go-to-market business functions is essential, as you will be bridging the gap between data and the business decisions necessary for success. A background in a growth-oriented global SaaS business is crucial, and recent experience with a consumption-based model is highly desired. As the primary analyst for weekly reporting, you will provide insights on pipeline generation, progression, and coverage metrics. You will utilize these insights to set global pipeline generation targets and develop an activity-based model to optimize pipeline generation across sales, customer success, marketing, product, and partner organizations. Additionally, you will create a pipeline generation and progression framework that focuses on enabling data-driven decisions and actionable insights. Building outstanding relationships with key internal stakeholders across Data Science, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Finance will be a critical aspect of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary analyst for weekly reporting and insights on pipeline generation, progression, and coverage metrics.
  • Utilize pipeline progression and coverage insights and topline metrics to set global pipeline generation targets.
  • Develop an activity-based pipeline generation model to optimize pipeline generation across sales, customer success, marketing, product, and partner organizations.
  • Create a pipeline generation and progression framework focused on enabling data-driven decisions and actionable insights.
  • Develop outstanding key internal stakeholder relationships across Data Science, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, or Economics.
  • 3+ years of hands-on analytical experience in a high-growth company, preferably one with a consumption-driven model.
  • Excellent financial modeling and analysis skills required.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Tableau.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; must also be proficient using G-Suite.
  • Ability to work quickly and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail.
  • A high degree of self-motivation fostered in a fast-paced, high-growth, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to influence business partners and provide recommendations to drive decision-making and execution.
  • Strong executive presence: communication (verbal, written, presentation) and facilitation skills with experience engaging and partnering at all levels internally and with key external stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience at a company with a consumption-driven model.
  • Knowledge of SQL and BigQuery.
  • Working knowledge of pipeline generation and demand generation in software-based SaaS organizations.
  • Working knowledge of the organizations and teams within Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Partner Ecosystem, Enablement, and Sales Operations.
