About the position

The Senior Analyst, FP&A at GRAIL Inc. plays a crucial role in the Finance organization, transforming the company's strategy and long-term vision into actionable financial plans. This position serves as a trusted business partner to the Software & IT leaders, managing budgets, variance reporting, and long-range planning. The analyst will also support investment decisions through business case analysis, ensuring the success of Software and IT functions within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the annual operating plan and quarterly forecast update processes for departmental spend to ensure accuracy of financial projections
  • Communicate budget variance drivers and investment activity insights to Technology & Software leadership through monthly reporting
  • Understand GRAIL's SaaS environment and partner with IT to develop strategies to drive efficiencies in our purchased software stack
  • Understand GRAIL's cloud infrastructure and partner with Software to reduce cloud computing costs
  • Understand GRAIL's physical networking infrastructure and partner with IT to develop sound long term scaling strategies
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Technology & Software leadership to ensure Long-Range Plan aligns with functional and company goals
  • Provide financial analysis to support executive decision making on Software resourcing, IT, SaaS, and other Technology investments
  • Prepare presentations for budget, forecast, and business case analysis

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in Finance or Business Analysis or combination of BS/BA degree with relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, Life Science-related, or Business-related
  • Prior experience in Diagnostic/Life Science industries necessary to be successful in role. Experience with Software or IT a bonus
  • Proven teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Experience building business case analyses and delivering presentations to senior management
  • Experience with Google Suite or other cloud based office programs
