About the position

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting Brookfield's Private Funds portfolio through financial analysis, reporting, and collaboration with various business units. This position involves overseeing investment valuations, preparing analyses for senior management, and maintaining valuation policies, all while contributing to the overall financial strategy of Brookfield's Real Estate Group.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the oversight of private fund investment valuations on a quarterly basis, collaborating with Portfolio Management to ensure the use of appropriate fair value methodology for all assets.
  • Leverage knowledge of investment business plans to review changes in valuations and returns on a quarterly basis.
  • Present overview of quarterly valuations and performance to Investor Relations and other internal groups.
  • Review investment annual business plans, consolidate the information for fund level business plans, and prepare analyses for senior management and investors illustrating how Brookfield will unlock value through the execution of our various business plans.
  • Maintain the private fund valuation policy and monitor the development and application of sector-specific valuation policies.
  • Review underwriting metrics as part of the Investment Committee approval process.
  • Support Investor Relations and Fundraising teams on quantitative and complex investor requests.
  • Perform quarterly benchmarking of fund performance against competitor peer group.
  • Prepare specific analysis and special projects as required, often working directly with investment teams, portfolio management teams, and the CFO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field
  • 3-5 years of Finance experience
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to details
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
  • Real estate valuation experience a plus
