About the position

The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Deciphera plays a crucial role in supporting finance business partnering activities for the Clinical, US Medical, and Regulatory teams. This position is responsible for monthly close activities, developing quarterly reforecasts, and managing the annual budget, ensuring alignment with the Board of Directors approved budget. The role emphasizes collaboration with budget owners to provide financial analysis that drives operational efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with budget owners to provide value-added financial analysis and support of business reviews and decisions from the financial perspective.
  • Collaborate with budget owners to build annual budget and quarterly reforecasts for external expenses.
  • Drive month-end close activities by working closely with Clinical, US Medical, Regulatory, and accounting teams to develop accruals and improve accrual processes.
  • Manage to Board of Directors approved annual budget, facilitating tradeoff discussions as business priorities change.
  • Lead analysis of financial results versus plan and forecasts, investigate significant variances, and communicate findings to departments and senior management.
  • Proactively identify areas for operational efficiencies and lead change management and process improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in FP&A and/or accounting in the biopharmaceutical industry required.
  • Experience with Financial planning systems, preferably Oracle Fusion and Adaptive Planning.
  • Experience with accruals related to clinical study costs, including CRO and investigator grants strongly preferred.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and big picture perspective.
  • Well-developed collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidance and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
