About the position

The Senior Analyst position at Abt focuses on supporting domestic health care initiatives within the Research, Monitoring, & Evaluation Capability team. The role involves applying qualitative and mixed methods research to generate evidence-based insights that shape healthcare policies and programs, ultimately benefiting millions of Americans. The analyst will work in a collaborative environment, tackling pressing research challenges in public health and healthcare, and will engage with federal agencies to evaluate key programs.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute methodological expertise across a range of qualitative and mixed methods research approaches.
  • Contribute subject-matter expertise in maternal and child health in underserved populations, clinical workflow, health care delivery, and payment programs.
  • Execute or manage moderately to highly complex research and evaluation tasks for federal clients, including developing research designs and analysis plans.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative data, conduct and interpret analysis of primary or secondary data, and report research findings.
  • Collaborate with or manage project teams, ensuring respectful communication and timely completion of tasks.
  • Support business development activities including proposal writing and development.
  • Contribute to developing and disseminating project deliverables and sharing findings through various media.
  • Maintain excellent business development relationships with clients and external partners.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in qualitative and mixed methods research methods in healthcare.
  • Experience with qualitative and mixed methods research design, analysis, data collection, and reporting.
  • Aptitude for mentoring less-experienced staff and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research approaches and interactions.
  • Experience translating research for practice, policy, and government audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with clients and working in teams.
  • Experience with business development and proposal or grant writing is a plus.
  • Strong interest in public policy research.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
