About the position

The Senior Analyst, Land Conservation at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy plays a crucial role in advancing the Institute's land conservation programs. This position involves strategic planning, program management, and policy-relevant research to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of initiatives like the International Land Conservation Network. The role emphasizes collaboration, relationship-building, and the dissemination of knowledge to inform public policy decisions globally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, management, execution, and evaluation of land conservation programs and projects.
  • Facilitate the development and monitoring of land conservation strategies and multi-year planning.
  • Conduct policy-relevant research and synthesize findings into knowledge products such as publications and reports.
  • Build relationships and conduct outreach to enhance participation in the global network.
  • Represent the team at key meetings and conferences to share the impact of our work.
  • Assist in developing curricula and training programs.
  • Ensure efficient project management processes and track progress.
  • Identify opportunities for new programs or projects through collaboration.
  • Facilitate Steering Committee and advisory calls.
  • Lead planning and program development for conferences and meetings.
  • Manage contracts and review deliverables from partners.
  • Identify and develop funding opportunities through various means.
  • Track and report on relevant program and project budgets.
  • Participate in relevant initiatives and undertake special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6 or more years of experience in public policy, organizational management, environmental science, or related fields.
  • Graduate degree in public policy, organizational management, environmental management, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Expertise in land conservation, conservation finance, land management, and stewardship.
  • Demonstrated research, writing, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to find new solutions to problems and take initiative.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and dependable with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in environmental policy or organizational governance.
  • Familiarity with conservation law and policy.
