The Senior Analyst role in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure at S&P Global is a pivotal position within the Data, AI, and Analytics research practice. This role is designed for an experienced industry analyst who will focus on generating market-leading insights specifically related to machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies. The successful candidate will join a team of five experts dedicated to exploring the interdependencies between these technologies and the various fields of infrastructure, data, and analytics. This research practice is part of a larger ecosystem of industry analyst teams known as '451 Research', which has been at the forefront of technology analysis for over two decades. The analyst will leverage various research techniques, including expert market insights, end-user surveys, forecast modeling, revenue tracking, and in-depth interviews, to provide comprehensive analysis of the technology landscape. In this role, the Senior Analyst will influence a wide range of stakeholders across the technology ecosystem, including technology and service providers, the investment community, and enterprises deploying generative AI. The focus will be on advancing research in the infrastructure and data areas of the AI stack, particularly analyzing the architectural shifts necessary for developing, hosting, and deploying predictive and generative AI capabilities. The analyst will adopt an AI-first foundational approach to assess industry changes associated with edge AI, AI inference, and AI accelerators/GPU chips. This position will also require contextualizing insights with respect to skills, economic trends, supply chain dynamics, and global political and regulatory impacts. The role offers the opportunity to lead insights on cutting-edge machine learning and AI technologies, engage with leading technology providers, and develop a profile as an industry analyst expert through speaking engagements at conferences and events. The analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining a unique program of market-leading written research, synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data to produce vendor profiles, market trend reports, and M&A focused analyses. Additionally, the analyst will take ownership of developing survey instruments and contribute to key data products, while also advising clients on actionable insights relevant to their needs and interests in AI and GenAI.
