About the position

The Senior Analyst, Manager Research position at Mariner involves conducting thorough research on mutual fund and ETF managers to ensure their inclusion in the MWA Approved List and model portfolios. This role is pivotal in enhancing the Investment Management Group's functions and requires a blend of analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Research and maintain the investment platform by sourcing and monitoring investment strategies.
• Provide analytical reports using tools such as Bloomberg, eVestment, Morningstar, and Zephyr.
• Develop monthly and quarterly reporting packages as required.
• Communicate with investment managers to assess their investment philosophy and performance.
• Extract and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making.
• Create and maintain detailed due diligence reports on investment managers.
• Assist in investment strategy due diligence using analysis tools like Zephyr and Morningstar Direct.
• Participate in the preparation of materials for investment committee meetings and present research findings.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a business-related field is required.
• Progress toward or completion of the CFA is preferred.
• Progress toward or completion of an MBA or other relevant professional qualifications is a plus.
• Experience in investment or retirement planning in a professional office environment is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail are essential.
• Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is required.
• Ability to multi-task and manage workload effectively.

• Experience with investment strategies and portfolio management is a plus.
• Familiarity with financial analysis tools and platforms.
