About the position

The Senior Analyst role is a newly created position within the rapidly expanding Procurement Department at UniFirst. This position presents a unique opportunity to significantly influence and transform the Procurement function. The Senior Analyst will report directly to the Head of Procurement and will be responsible for independently managing procurement initiatives that vary in complexity, depending on their level of experience. This role necessitates strong leadership skills, as the analyst will be expected to lead projects while collaborating with various corporate functions and engaging multiple stakeholders. The work arrangement for this position is hybrid, requiring the analyst to be on-site in Wilmington, MA for approximately 50% of the time, specifically 2-3 days per week. In this role, the Senior Analyst will play a crucial part in delivering cost savings and contributing to effective category management. Key responsibilities include soliciting and qualifying potential new vendors for assigned categories, developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to facilitate price discovery and vendor selection, and supporting or leading sourcing initiatives under the guidance of the Head of Procurement. The analyst will also be responsible for negotiating supply terms and conditions, drafting and implementing supply agreements with input from legal and other stakeholders, and facilitating the onboarding of new suppliers. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will research and resolve various product, service, and supply chain issues, provide ongoing Supplier Relationship Management support, and manage vendor price change requests while ensuring compliance with existing contract terms. The role also involves providing procurement research and analytical support for initiatives led by the Procurement Manager, maintaining the contract database with current agreement information, and monitoring raw material price indexes to identify market trends. The Senior Analyst will be expected to promptly respond to inquiries from field locations regarding products and ensure compliance with vendor agreements, as well as provide product allocations as needed. Reporting to management will include updates on cost savings, performance improvements, sourcing initiative schedules, and opportunities for enhancing supplier diversity.
