About the position

The Senior Product Systems Analyst (SPSA) at AES Clean Energy will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing software applications that support the company's rapidly growing renewable energy business. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather product requirements, designing and implementing software solutions, and managing the product lifecycle from concept to launch. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of business processes and IT systems, contributing to AES's mission of becoming the leading renewables developer and operator in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product owners, managers, stakeholders, and users to gather and document detailed product requirements.
  • Analyze and translate business requirements into technical specifications and system designs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and impact analysis to assess potential solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions using Quickbase, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
  • Create detailed system documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, and data models.
  • Support the product lifecycle from concept to launch and ongoing optimization.
  • Troubleshoot product issues and create best practices to prevent future issues.
  • Provide support to end-users and guidance to junior analysts.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure product systems meet quality standards and user expectations.
  • Conduct system testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.
  • Identify, document, and resolve system issues and defects.
  • Train users on application use, functionality, data quality, and reporting.
  • Create and maintain effective application documentation and user support materials.

Requirements

  • College Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or Business field.
  • 5-8 years' demonstrated experience in the implementation and support of business systems software platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience with BI tools, preferably Power BI.
  • Strong Data Analysis and Modeling experience and understanding of data structures.
  • Broad technical acumen including comfort with relational databases and data structures, with Quickbase experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance, prioritize, and manage multiple projects of differing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of accountability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Quickbase software.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
