About the position

The Senior Analyst/Programmer at Mayo Clinic will play a crucial role in developing and supporting media production workstreams and various media systems. This position focuses on diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, automating tasks, and supporting AI/Automation across production and creative services. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with department leadership and IT to evaluate alternatives, present recommendations, and maintain multiple systems while providing technical leadership and support.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to media production systems.
  • Automate tasks using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and PowerShell.
  • Utilize no-code/low-code platforms like Microsoft Power Apps to build applications.
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain custom system software and purchased systems software.
  • Perform consulting tasks and act as an information resource and mentor.
  • Collaborate with department leadership and IT in proposal development and gain institutional approvals.
  • Evaluate alternative approaches and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Regularly review and update software programs or applications to ensure functionality.
  • Maintain and support multiple systems or complex software programs and their associated hardware.
  • Produce and maintain documentation such as system requirements and designs.
  • Provide technical and project leadership to other staff members.
  • Interface with vendor support service groups during outages or degraded system performance.
  • Act as a liaison to Mayo departments and vendors to support computing systems.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience, including 1 year of demonstrated technical experience; or Associate's degree and 7 years' experience, including 1 year of demonstrated technical experience.
  • Effective system design principles and software development methodologies.
  • Ability to multi-task among multiple complex assigned tasks/projects.
  • Strong communication, meeting management, and organizational skills.
  • Project management skills and ability to meet project deliverables and timelines.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Experience working in healthcare technology.
  • Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in applicable field preferred.
  • Certifications in Power BI, Powershell, Crestron programming, AVIXA - CTS, and Biamp Tesiraforte are preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams rooms Pro Management and Teams Admin Center.
