About the position

As a Senior Analyst in Research & Development for the Sweet Baked Snacks team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the consistency, safety, and quality of our products. This position is based in our corporate offices in Orrville, Ohio, and will require a minimum of 30% in-person presence in accordance with our Presence with Purpose Model. Your primary responsibility will be to create and maintain information within the JMS Specification systems, which includes managing specifications for Ingredients, Formulations, Packaging, Finished Products, and any Supporting specifications across all Sweet Baked Snacks Strategic Business Areas. You will collaborate closely with Technical Services, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure that specifications can be successfully executed to meet all requirements. Additionally, you will serve as the key R&D contact for Project Managers, ensuring that project objectives and timelines are met effectively. In this role, you will engage in various collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams to establish and deliver against project timelines for the creation of Packaging and Trade specifications, as well as Master, Material, and Formulation specifications. You will also be responsible for ensuring the calculation of Global Barcode Standards and that values can be consistently met. Participation in JMS Key Element and Quality programs will be part of your responsibilities to support R&D initiatives. You will ensure that Ingredient Recipes and Labels meet compliance standards, including Child Nutrition, Labeling, and Nutrition Claims. Your ability to problem-solve and find more efficient ways of working will be essential, as will your collaboration with the System Team to assist in the development of system and business process improvements. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to coach and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of R&D and/or Technical Services experience, including 3 years of CPG specification experience.
• Experience in executing specifications in an Operations environment or specification management in operations, quality, or R&D.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet timelines.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and act with a sense of urgency.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple spec type creation.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong collaboration skills.

• Ability to develop positive relationships with JMS personnel at all levels.
