About the position

The Senior Analyst - Revenue Excellence role at McKinsey involves working within the Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice to drive significant improvements in revenue cycle management for healthcare providers. The position focuses on end-to-end revenue cycle transformations, including patient access, coding, clinical documentation, billing, and accounts receivable management. The analyst will collaborate with client leaders to implement growth solutions and optimize pricing strategies, ensuring sustainable results and enhanced operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects that improve revenue cycle performance, including patient collections and billing accuracy.
  • Drive development of technology assets to support client teams in achieving revenue goals.
  • Engage with client leaders and operators to implement changes critical to achieving company objectives.
  • Work on revenue cycle transformations, focusing on areas such as coding, clinical documentation, and A/R management.
  • Collaborate with small teams to build capabilities and processes that deliver bottom-line results.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline or healthcare discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in a healthcare environment with end-to-end revenue cycle transformation experience.
  • Experience managing projects that improved revenue cycle performance, such as patient collections and denial write-offs.
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle technology assets and concepts, including product development or implementation exposure.
  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of statistical and advanced analytics methods.
