About the position

The Senior Analyst, Revenue Accounting is responsible for the accurate and timely recognition and reporting of instrument sales and placements. This role involves managing customer revenue accounts, interpreting contracts, and providing lease classification guidance to various teams. The analyst will also utilize revenue recognition software, maintain relevant files, and support finance and accounting teams with analyses and reconciliations, while serving as a subject matter expert for ASC 606 and ASC 842.

Responsibilities

  • Perform revenue recognition for customer contracts in accordance with ASC 606 and ASC 842.
  • Manage workload against deadlines.
  • Co-manage BOT processes and utilize outputs.
  • Be a power user of the revenue recognition software, performing activities such as scheduling and system testing.
  • Interact with Contracts and Marketing teams for revenue recognition analysis and budgeting.
  • Complete journal entries to correct or adjust financials.
  • Coordinate and complete analysis of revenue and COGS actual results.
  • Create and review account reconciliations and monthly reporting.
  • Participate in projects, audits, and presentations as needed.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance function or combination of education and experience if CPA obtained.
  • U.S. GAAP literate with working knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 842 required.
  • Advance Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint) skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and quality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred CPA certification and/or MBA.
  • SAP and Salesforce.com experience a plus.
  • Out of the box thinker / Global view oriented for problem solving and continuous improvement.
