About the position

Sealed Air is seeking a Senior Analyst for Sales Performance and Compensation Reporting, who will report directly to the Executive Director of Commercial Analytics & Performance Management Optimization. This role is pivotal in providing insights that will guide leadership, strategy, and sales team decisions. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for optimizing sales performance through the development of comprehensive sales performance reporting that delivers actionable insights to leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments. In this position, the Senior Analyst will analyze sales performance data to assess the effectiveness of compensation plans and monitor key performance indicators, including sales metrics, to track performance against established targets. Regular reporting and insights will be provided to sales leadership and executive management based on actual and projected performance, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. The role also involves developing and maintaining dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to sales leadership, conducting in-depth analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decisions, and modeling cost impacts for annual sales incentive plan updates. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Senior Analyst will work closely with sales leadership to understand business needs and objectives, partner with sales compensation teams to incorporate the intricacies of plans and regional nuances, and collaborate with finance and HR to align compensation plans with financial and operational goals. Additionally, the analyst will support the design and development of sales compensation plans, ensuring they are effective and aligned with business goals and sales strategies, while incorporating market research and benchmarking to maintain competitiveness. The Senior Analyst will also play a role in strategic planning initiatives by providing compensation-related insights and recommendations, participating in the annual compensation review process, and assisting in long-term planning and forecasting for sales compensation expenses. This position requires a blend of analytical skills, communication prowess, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of compensation plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including sales metrics to track performance against targets.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to sales leadership and executive management based on actual and projected performance.
  • Identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to sales leadership.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
  • Model cost impacts for annual sales incentive plan updates and requested what-if scenarios that could affect sales compensation expense.
  • Measure and track the effectiveness of special incentive programs (SPIFs) that drive strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to understand business needs and objectives.
  • Partner with sales compensation teams to incorporate intricacies of plans and regional nuances.
  • Collaborate with finance and HR to align compensation plans with financial and operational goals.
  • Support the design and development of sales compensation plans utilizing diverse data sets and performance-related analytical insights and trend analyses.
  • Ensure compensation plans are effective and aligned with business goals and sales strategies.
  • Incorporate market research and benchmarking to ensure competitiveness of sales incentive plans.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives with compensation-related insights and recommendations.
  • Participate in the annual compensation review process and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales operations, business analysis, or related role.
  • Extensive experience in sales compensation analysis, design, and management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in compensation management software and tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, compensation planning software).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales processes and best practices in compensation.
  • Experience with sales performance metrics and incentive structures.
