About the position

The Senior Analyst for State Government Affairs at Verizon Wireless is responsible for ensuring compliance with existing and proposed statutes and regulations affecting the company's operations. This role involves managing vendor relationships, overseeing budgeting processes, and supporting compliance reporting. The analyst will also track corporate contributions and maintain accurate billing processes for vendors, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the State Government Affairs team.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and applying existing, proposed and new statutes and regulations to Verizon's operations to ensure compliance.
• Addressing state public utilities commission inquiries and developing compliance report filings as needed.
• Supporting the management of consultant, legal, membership and philanthropic relationships for the State Government Affairs team.
• Onboarding new law firms/consultants and maintaining contractual relationships.
• Providing training and billing support for vendors' use of the TyMetrix 360 billing platform.
• Ensuring vendor billing is accurate and processed in a timely manner.
• Developing and maintaining annual departmental budgets and tracking monthly expenses.
• Tracking invoicing and documentation related to memberships and commitments in state and local organizations.
• Tracking corporate political contributions and Verizon CSR contributions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience with advanced spreadsheets.
• Presentations and word processing skills.
