We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct industry research and build financial models.
  • Create presentation materials and help coordinate due diligence for investments in emerging technologies.
  • Evaluate business use cases for startup and early stage companies in aerospace and operational technologies.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence on industry trends regarding new technologies.
  • Participate and lead introductory calls with management teams of target companies.
  • Build, maintain and take ownership of three-statement financial and transactional models on target companies.
  • Conduct scenario analysis for varied investment structures.
  • Prepare concise and focused PowerPoint presentations.
  • Manage/coordinate with primary business units that provide key operational and commercial use case for emerging technologies.
  • Manage/coordinate with other support stakeholders throughout the company including Legal, Government Relations, Corporate Communications, Accounting, Investor Relations, FP&A and Tax.
  • Work closely with both the Senior Manager, Director and Managing Director of United Airlines Ventures to support all active deal negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in either the airline industry or financial analysis.
  • Strong background in financial and business strategy analysis.
  • Prior experience in a finance, strategy or consulting organization.
  • Central FP&A experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
