About the position

The Senior Analyst, Strategic Market Research at Vail Resorts is responsible for executing comprehensive market research studies that inform strategic decisions across various business lines. This role focuses on quantitative methods and requires strong analytical and technical skills to support data-driven decision-making. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to design research studies, analyze data, and present actionable insights, all while managing projects and fostering cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop research studies in collaboration with stakeholders to meet strategic business goals.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Create and present detailed research reports and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry trends and customer preferences to inform research work.
  • Optimize research methodologies and tools to enhance the accuracy and relevance of insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research outcomes with strategic initiatives.
  • Manage upward and peer relationships by providing updates and feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Math, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in market research, analytics, or a similar role focused on data collection, analysis, and insight development.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Experience with survey platforms, specifically Qualtrics.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings clearly and concisely.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of ski industry-specific trends and competitive landscape.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or ThinkCell.
  • Experience with querying databases (SQL).
  • Experience as a focus group moderator for qualitative research studies.
  • Experience using advanced statistical or predictive modeling techniques.
