About the position

The Senior Analyst, Strategic Market Research at Vail Resorts is responsible for executing comprehensive market research studies that inform strategic decisions across various business lines. This role focuses on leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather insights about guest behavior and market performance, ultimately supporting data-driven decision-making within the organization. The position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage projects and stakeholders independently.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop research studies in collaboration with stakeholders to meet strategic business goals.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Create detailed research reports and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform research.
  • Optimize research methodologies and tools for improved accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research outcomes with strategic initiatives.
  • Manage upward and peer relationships by providing updates and feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Math, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in market research, analytics, or a similar role focused on data collection and analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Experience with survey platforms, specifically Qualtrics.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings clearly and concisely.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of ski industry-specific trends and competitive landscape.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or ThinkCell.
  • Experience with querying databases (SQL).
  • Experience as a focus group moderator for qualitative research studies.
  • Experience using advanced statistical or predictive modeling techniques.
