About the position

The Senior Analyst, Supply Chain at Ally Financial is responsible for collaborating with various lines of business to optimize procurement processes and manage supplier relationships. This role involves directing organizational changes to enhance performance, managing medium to large projects, and ensuring effective communication of project statuses. The analyst will also support contract enablement and vendor evaluation, contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the coordination of activities within the supply chain department, ensuring results in terms of costs, methods, and employee performance.
  • Evaluate vendor reliability and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
  • Prepare budgets and oversee vendor selection processes and programs.
  • Review and approve purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
  • Negotiate major contracts involving significant financial commitments.
  • Develop policies and procedures for procurement operations.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and performance aspects of major subcontracts.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with planning and order fulfillment to maintain inventory levels.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Professional affiliations or certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, business and industry analysis, financial analysis, supplier selection and management, contract negotiations, conflict management, decision making, and strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations on price, rates, and contract terms.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.
  • Proven ability to manage large projects across multiple parties and deliver results.
  • Experience handling difficult situations with clients and vendor negotiations.

  • Experience with Ariba contract repository.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management best practices.
