About the position

The Senior Analyst - Variable Compensation is responsible for the preparation, coordination, calculation, and documentation of complex variable pay programs. This role involves extracting data from various systems to determine incentive payments and providing high-level analytics to senior executives and the Compensation Committee. The position requires a strong understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements, as well as the ability to manage complex systems and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Extract and prepare data from different sources and systems to facilitate complex variable compensation programs.
  • Calculate variable compensation payments and manage data to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage the complex systems used to calculate variable compensation.
  • Provide analyses and recommendations based on variable compensation data.
  • Recognize and provide feedback on the impact of changes to plans or financial results on final payouts.
  • Identify issues and suggest courses of action for process improvements.
  • Work closely with corporate and business unit resources to improve standardization.
  • Support and direct implementation of process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Record necessary month-end accruals and reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience with large data sets.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements from 2-3 years in a public organization.
  • 2+ years experience using large information and accounting systems.
  • Strong overall business skills and common sense approach to issues.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to translate complex analytical data.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Applications, especially Excel and Access.

  • Report writing experience is preferred.
