About the position

Abnormal Security is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join the Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A) team. This role focuses on defining, developing, and deploying the analytics stack, managing data pipelines, data warehousing, data modeling, and business intelligence. The position emphasizes collaboration to enable scalable analytics and support the company's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients of Data Engineering to design and maintain reliable data models and visualizations for seamless reporting and analysis.
  • Optimize data warehousing processes by enhancing existing data models and building new models while implementing best practices for data quality testing.
  • Empower end users to independently explore and answer data-related questions using well-organized datasets.
  • Implement cataloging and documentation best practices to raise data literacy and adoption of data products across the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in SQL and advanced knowledge of at least one scripting or statistical programming language (Python, R).
  • Strong understanding of analytical data-warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to write clear documentation and communicate complex technical topics to non-technical users.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize, unblock, flag risks, and push progress forward.
  • Experience working in relational data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
  • Experience with data transformation tools such as DBT, DLT, or SQLMesh.
  • Experience with Extract and Load tools such as Fivetran, Airbyte, or custom Python scripting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Finance or Sales and Marketing Analytics related experience.
