About the position

Kargo is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join their Analytics team, responsible for building data pipelines and ensuring data quality across various business functions. This role involves designing ETL pipelines, particularly with dbt, and collaborating with data analysts and commercial teams to translate user requirements into technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling and governance, and will take ownership of scalable architecture to support Kargo's infrastructure growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of dbt as the data transformation layer and optimize data architecture.
• Productionalize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and integrate new data sources in partnership with analysts.
• Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams to gather technical requirements and support business needs.
• Ensure data quality by developing processes to drive the accuracy and integrity of datasets used for reporting.
• Share expertise and mentor junior analytics engineers on the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a data engineering or analytics engineering role.
• 1+ years of working with dbt.
• Solid understanding of data modeling techniques, warehousing, orchestration, pipeline, and visualization solutions.
• Strong experience with SQL using Snowflake, BigQuery (or equivalent).
• 1+ years of Python experience (Pandas, Python Standard Library, SQL Drivers).
• Excellent communication skills, particularly when explaining technical or complex matters to less technical co-workers.
