About the position

Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our team in Summit, New Jersey. This position is a contract role lasting for 6 months and offers a hybrid work environment. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for performing data engineering, preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, and model development by interacting with a variety of databases. You will play a crucial role in the ingestion, integration, and delivery of data across multiple platforms, ensuring data integrity and adherence to clean data principles. In this role, you will lead team code reviews and work to improve programming practices within the team. You will independently coordinate and manage analytics projects across several departments while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Your ability to work on a global team and communicate effectively across various time zones will be essential. Regular communication with team members will be necessary to provide updates and collaborate on deliverables. You will be accountable for leading, documenting, and managing analytics User Requirements Specifications (URS) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) through execution for Global Process Owners (GPO). Additionally, you will engage colleagues who complete data-related activities and design digital solutions that streamline access to analytics and data. Working with domain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), you will derive insights and value to improve manufacturing-related data transformations and initiatives. The ideal candidate will utilize supervised or unsupervised methods to learn from vast amounts of unlabeled data, driving insights that can enhance decision-making in manufacturing operations. You will ensure the life cycle management of code is maintained through version control and associated repositories, developing high-quality analytical and statistical models, insights, patterns, and visualizations. Documentation of all technical work is crucial, both within and outside of formal document management systems. You will independently develop code and analytical models to automate data transformation and analysis, contributing to the overall success of the analytics team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data engineering, preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, and model development by interacting with a variety of databases.
  • Ingest, integrate, and deliver data across multiple platforms while maintaining data integrity and clean data principles.
  • Lead team code reviews and improve team programming practices.
  • Independently coordinate and manage analytics projects across several departments and with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with team members to provide updates and collaborate on deliverables.
  • Lead, document, and manage analytics URS and UAT through execution for GPO.
  • Engage colleagues who complete data-related activities.
  • Design and deliver digital solutions that streamline access to analytics and data.
  • Work with domain SMEs to derive insight and value to improve manufacturing-related data transformations and improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize supervised or unsupervised methods to drive insights from vast amounts of unlabeled data.

Requirements

  • Advanced SQL skills (5+ years).
  • 2+ years experience working with dbt.
  • 5+ years working with relational databases.
  • MS in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biostatistics or similar with 6 years industry experience or PhD in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biostatistics or similar with 3 years industry experience.
  • Intermediate Python skills.
  • Intermediate visualization (Tableau, dashboarding) experience.
