MLB's Strategy & Development (S&D) organization is a centralized resource within Baseball's Office of the Commissioner. The S&D organization works cross-functionally across MLB to support the development and execution of our strategies for growing baseball globally. As part of our charter, S&D is a service organization that oversees five key areas: Strategy, Club Biz Ops & Strategy, Analytics, Operations, and Corporate Development. The Senior Analytics Engineer assists our seasoned team of dedicated professionals in delivering business-critical, analytical solutions that impact the league. The Analytics team within the Strategy & Development (S&D) department is responsible for partnering with multiple areas of the organization to not only develop impactful insight for a particular vertical through the utilization of various data resources but provide sage direction on what is possible for the league's success looking across all departments. As the Senior Analytics Engineer working in our NYC office, your primary task will be leading various parts of the data journey, constructing end-to-end analyses that are leveraged by senior management and model data. Your careful attention to detail, fearlessness in rolling up your sleeves to build on your own, and honed problem-solving talents will serve you well as you develop visualizations, dashboards, and reports. The data that feeds those developments are maintained through logical transformations of the data owned by our team. The presentation of the data story will be a crucial contribution to the analytical adaptation across baseball, which continues to be the backbone of some of baseball's critical operational decisions. You will be expected to be a thought leader in the verticals you own and contribute as a high-performing member of this team.
