About the position

Nisum is seeking an experienced Android Developer to serve as the primary point of contact for Android development projects. This role involves collaborating with product managers and designers to create and enhance Android applications, overseeing the complete development cycle, and providing technical leadership throughout the process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android development and will be responsible for defining technical roadmaps, preparing technical solutions, and mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Android development requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Manager and Designer to design and develop Android applications.
  • Involve in the complete development cycle including product development, test automation, CI/CD pipeline, and application development.
  • Provide technical leadership in the end-to-end design, development, and testing of solutions.
  • Work with technical leads, managers, and product stakeholders to define and manage the technical roadmap.
  • Prepare and present potential technical solutions and advise the business on approach and tradeoffs.
  • Provide high-level effort estimates in the absence of detailed requirements.
  • Communicate solution approaches to architects, project teams, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Android development experience.
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Java and Kotlin.
  • Hands-on experience with AndroidX, Glide, Retrofit, REST, and Gson.
  • Familiarity with MVVM/MVP patterns.
  • Proficiency in computer science fundamentals.
  • Extensive experience in shipping apps and managing deployment processes via Google Play Developer Console.
  • Proven track record in balancing getting things done with making things perfect.
  • Experience mentoring other developers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
