About the position

The Android Engineer at Volley will be responsible for creating intuitive and impactful user experiences for mobile applications, particularly in the gaming sector. This role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality Android products, leveraging expertise in UI design and animation. The position also involves mentoring junior engineers and driving best practices in mobile development, all while working in a hybrid environment with a focus on user experience and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to design and deliver high-quality products on Android.
  • Build efficient and reusable mobile components.
  • Leverage UI, Compose, and animation expertise to create delightful user experiences.
  • Mentor, guide, advocate, and support the career growth of individual contributors.
  • Identify areas of improvement and drive mobile best practices.
  • Follow data-driven approaches to conduct experiments and iterate features.
  • Own end-to-end development of larger feature sets or modules, from requirements analysis to production support.
  • Provide regular progress updates to managers and stakeholders.
  • Propose improvements to our technical roadmap and project architecture.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of industry experience in Android development.
  • Fluency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience shipping one or more Android apps.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passionate about designing and building UX products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with audio, voice, or emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated technical excellence in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience building and maintaining reusable Android UI components.
