About the position

The Photo & Text team is focused on creating innovative ways to consume content within TikTok, encouraging user participation and enhancing the diversity of content available. As a Senior Android Software Engineer on this team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and shipping new product experiences that deliver joy to millions of users. You will collaborate closely with talented backend and product teams to develop and ship innovative user features, ensuring a world-class mobile experience through effective collaboration with design and product teams. Your responsibilities will also include optimizing mobile applications on Android platforms, promoting robust and maintainable code, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

• Work closely with backend and product teams to develop and ship new user features on TikTok.
• Collaborate with design and product teams to create a world-class mobile experience.
• Optimize mobile applications on Android platforms.
• Promote robust and maintainable code and clear documentation.
• Deliver high-quality work in a rapid environment.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent majors/experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Ability to understand and debug large and complex codebases.
• Good team communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 5 years of experience in native Android development.
