About the position

The Senior Angular Developer will play a crucial role within the Software Development job family, working closely with clients, business analysts, and team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis, design, and development of quality technical solutions. These solutions must align with the State Agency IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. The role involves full systems life cycle responsibilities, including designing, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting applications that are delivered on time and within budget. Beyond application development, the Senior Angular Developer will participate in component and data architecture design, technology planning, product evaluation, issue troubleshooting and resolution, advanced testing processes, and buy vs. build recommendations. The developer will also utilize various middleware to develop solutions and provide input to project plans related to the Software Development initiative. The Senior Angular Developer will develop integrated solutions that consolidate and coordinate existing applications, legacy systems, databases, web interfaces, and hardware logic to meet new and emerging enterprise requirements. A strong knowledge of programming languages used by the organization is essential, along with an understanding of object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, and debugging programs. The developer will have experience in systems design and a solid understanding of development, database development, testing, and integration methodologies. Knowledge of current and emerging IT products, services, and processes is required. The role may involve working as an individual contributor, team member, or technical team leader, providing client support, consultation, and subject matter expertise for software development, maintenance, and support. This position is hybrid, requiring candidates to report to the office a few days each month or as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for technical leadership in the analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and enhancement of software, applications, or middleware.
• Actively involved in researching, troubleshooting, or resolving complex support issues.
• Consults in the project planning process with clients, business analysts, architects, and team members.
• Monitors project milestones and critical dates to identify potential project schedule risks and resolves schedule issues.
• Keeps management aware of project progress and status.
• May lead the technical evaluation and selection process for software or middleware packages.
• Supports communication and training necessary for successful adoption of selected tools or software.
• Provides input for buy vs. build recommendations and researches feasibility of custom, open source, and commercial solutions.
• Analyzes existing applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
• Initiates identification, analysis, implementation, communication, and adoption of technical process improvements.

Requirements

• 5 years of programming/systems analysis experience.
• 3 years of demonstrated project experience using Angular (9+).
• 3 years of demonstrated project experience with Java.
• 3 years of demonstrated project experience using Spring Boot.
• 3 years of demonstrated project experience working with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• 3 years of demonstrated project experience with responsive and adaptive UI/UX design or development and supporting technologies (HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, etc.).
• 3 years of experience working with an RDBMS such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• 3 years of experience with RESTful Web Services or APIs and supporting tools (Postman, Swagger, JMeter, etc.).
• 3 years of experience with data exchange/serialization languages, formats, or technologies (JSON, YAML, XML, etc.).
