About the position

The Senior Angular Web Developer role at Barclays focuses on designing, developing, and enhancing software solutions that support business and technology capabilities. The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery, adherence to secure coding practices, and the implementation of effective testing methodologies. The developer will work within the Macro Rates Technology function, contributing to the development and maintenance of an in-house electronic trading application.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and devise solution strategies.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to the organization's technology communities.
  • Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
  • Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure code design, readability, and reliability.
  • Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders to support resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of control and governance.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information and influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Proficient web developer using Angular.
  • Extensive experience with JavaScript/Typescript.
  • Experience with WebSocket / WebRTC for real-time data.
  • Familiarity with RxJS, NgRx, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with complex applications dealing with large data volumes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Jenkins.
  • Experience working with design tools, such as Figma.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Proficiency in Git.
