About the position

The Senior API Developer at DISH Network will play a crucial role in the Retail Wireless team, focusing on designing and implementing AWS cloud-native backend components that support mobile applications. This position emphasizes collaboration across multiple teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal customer experience, leveraging automation and best practices in mobile development.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing AWS cloud-native backend components supporting mobile apps.
  • Interacting with multiple teams, both internal and external, to provide necessary logic and integrations for the mobile layer.
  • Designing and implementing AWS-based architectures for cost-effective high throughput using serverless and autoscaling.
  • Utilizing automation for quick and low-risk deployment of components.
  • Recommending standards, best practices, architectures, and technologies for mobile development.
  • Deploying and supporting applications to ensure optimal customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • 3+ years of cloud experience (AWS/GCP).
  • 3+ years working with Web Services, REST API, and Microservices patterns.
  • 2+ years of modern software development utilizing automation for builds, testing, and deployments using CDK.
  • Demonstrated experience in software application Lifecycle Management (LCM), and composition of JSON/YAML files.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Vault, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Experience in programming and system integration using Java, TypeScript, Python, or advanced Shell scripting.
  • Experience managing applications in Amazon Web Services and familiarity with core offerings.
