About the position
GovCIO is seeking a Senior Application Developer to design, build, and modify application software. This role requires an active Secret clearance and is fully onsite in Fairfax, Virginia. The developer will work with various programming languages and technologies to enhance government IT services and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and modify application software using programming languages such as Java, ColdFusion, JavaScript, and C#.
- Implement design patterns including MVC, web services, SOA, and microservices.
- Integrate COTS products, utilize APIs, interact with data repositories, and manage system interfaces.
- Manage legacy code and develop new code using container technologies like Kubernetes.
- Develop and execute unit tests to ensure code meets functional requirements.
- Identify secure coding techniques to enhance code security.
- Check code in daily and resolve integration issues, vulnerabilities, and functional defects.
- Minimize technical debt by applying coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with Systems Analysts to modify software to meet organizational business needs.
- Ensure all code conforms to system security requirements.
Requirements
- High School diploma with 6 - 9 years of application development experience or equivalent experience.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.
