About the position

The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Senior Application Developer for the Department of Radiology, specifically within the Ai2D Center for AI and Data Science for Integrated Diagnostics. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software pipelines for image analysis within the Ai2D Center.
  • Install and package software, updating code from research prototypes.
  • Run and test software pipelines, integrating them with clinical systems.
  • Train Deep Learning and other machine learning models as part of pipeline development.
  • Collaborate with researchers to determine functional requirements and propose technical solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to technical, quality assurance, data integrity, and security standards.
  • Guide team members and researchers in the pipeline development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with software containerization tools like Docker and Singularity.
  • Familiarity with software development tools including IDEs, debuggers, and version control systems (Git/GitHub).
  • Solid understanding of operating system concepts and experience with high performance computing systems (job scheduling, parallel processing).
  • Experience with neuroimaging tools such as AFNI, FSL, ANTs, FreeSurfer is preferred.
  • Knowledge of web programming and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
