About the position

The Senior Application Developer I position is responsible for driving program enhancements and bug fixes for pep's internal business systems, to ensure successful promotion execution. This role involves gathering business requirements and translating them into technology terms, developing algorithms and programming code for software solutions, and maintaining good coding practices. The developer will provide understanding and guidance on future development initiatives, lead on technology issues, and design, build, test, and implement the software code required by pep. The position requires a great understanding of software design and programming principles, as well as the ability to provide avenues for future enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering business requirements and translating them into technology terms.
  • Develop algorithms and programming code for software solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain good coding practices.
  • Provide understanding and guidance on future development initiatives.
  • Provide leadership on technology issues.
  • Design, build, test and implement the software code required by pep.
  • Design the logic that delivers the requested functionality.
  • Provide avenue for future enhancements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years previous information technology and applications experience.
  • Degree in information technology or equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to be client facing.
  • Ability to mentor, grow and work harmoniously as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to do intermediate-level math (calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages).
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Effectively utilizes staff including delegating as appropriate.
  • Ability to manage healthy business processes.
  • Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
