The University of Iowa Health Care department of Health Care Information Systems is seeking a Senior Application Developer to provide technical leadership, direction, and technical support for the development, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Interfaces using both Cloverleaf and EPIC Bridges in support of Enterprise integrations. This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa, and a work arrangement form must be completed upon the start of employment. Work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies, as well as the employee travel policy when working at a remote location. In this role, the Senior Application Developer will evaluate new systems for interface needs, analyze system interface requirements, and estimate the required work effort. The developer will monitor critical systems in production and manage operational issues related to interfaces. This includes working with development teams to evaluate, design, and implement appropriate solutions while maintaining necessary documentation. The position also involves maintaining the Cloverleaf interface engine, including ongoing maintenance and periodic system upgrades. The developer will respond to change requests by evaluating requirements and designing modifications to interface logic. They will evaluate and implement needed modifications to interfaces in response to upgrades of EPIC and other third-party vendor systems. Additionally, the Senior Application Developer will provide first and second-level support to customers and application technical teams to evaluate and respond to operational issues. The Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) team provides and supports information and communication systems and technology that facilitate quality patient care, progressive medical education, and innovative research. HCIS services University of Iowa Health Care by providing comprehensive, high-level support for patient care delivery, internal and external communication, technology innovation, medical education, and research, creating and maintaining a positive, productive, and rewarding environment for information technology and communication staff.
