About the position

The Senior Application Developer role on the RyderShip team involves developing and maintaining software solutions that facilitate ecommerce operations for customers. This position focuses on creating robust backend systems, collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality software, and mentoring junior developers to foster a culture of continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level integrations for core applications.
• Test applications using Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and Smoke Testing to ensure quality before QA handoff.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for Severity 1 issues and manage SLAs for Severity 2 and 3 support tickets.
• Collaborate with the team to prioritize and refine work based on business needs.
• Work with developers, designers, and product owners to ensure seamless integration and user experience.
• Mentor and guide other developers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications and design documentation.
• Provide support to internal customers to resolve outstanding issues.
• Monitor application health through dashboards and alerts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Seven (7) years or more of Software Development experience required.
• Three (3) years or more of experience in Transportation Management and/or Distribution Management Technology preferred.
• Strong competency in at least one modern web development language, ideally Ruby on Rails or Typescript.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in technical contexts.
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions in unclear situations.
