About the position

The Senior Application Developer role on the RyderShip team involves developing and maintaining software solutions that facilitate ecommerce operations for customers. This position focuses on creating robust backend systems, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that meets business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level integrations for core applications.
• Test applications using various strategies such as Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and Smoke Testing.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for Severity 1 issues and manage SLAs for Severity 2 and 3 support tickets.
• Collaborate with the team to determine, refine, and prioritize work based on business needs.
• Work with other developers, designers, and product owners to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience.
• Mentor and guide other developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications and design documentation.
• Provide support to internal customers to resolve outstanding issues.
• Monitor application health by establishing dashboards and alerts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• At least 7 years of Software Development experience required.
• 3 years or more in Transportation Management and/or Distribution Management Technology preferred.
• Strong competency in modern web development languages, ideally Ruby on Rails or Typescript.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in technical contexts.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with application health monitoring and establishing alerts.
• Familiarity with various testing strategies and methodologies.
